A local Dumas construction company has been chosen by Dumas ISD to do the work on updating the Demons sports facilities. Willis Construction, will expand the weight room, and other work on the Demons dome building, outside of Demons Stadium. The Moore County News press says the project will cost 1 million dollars.
A Sunray man is injured in a car wreck in Oklahoma. A man from Missouri was killed in a two-vehicle crash about seven miles east of Hooker, Oklahoma a little before 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2016 Ford F250, driven by Brice Martinez, 23, of Sunray, was southbound on County Road 53. Martinez failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2019 Ford F150 pickup that was eastbound on US-64, driven by Jackie A. Mayne, 60, of Grove Spring, Missouri.
After impact, Martinez was ejected and his vehicle rolled one and a quarter times, coming to rest on the passenger side on the south side of US-64. The other vehicle rolled two times and came to rest on its wheels on the south side of US-64 as well.
Martinez was transported by Seward County EMS to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal and was admitted in stable condition with unknown injuries.
As COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the area, the City of Amarillo has raised its Status Level to ‘Orange’ after having celebrated its move to ‘Yellow’ in March.
According to the City of Amarillo’s Alert website, increased safety recommendations will pair with the new status level.
Police and emergency crews were cleaning up a wreck on I-27 that took out a long length of the guardrail along I-27.
Our crews at the scene said over 100 feet appeared to have been cleared by a semi truck accident near exit 120B on the highway.
The truck’s oil pan was also damaged, spilling oil on the road.
