More homes to be built in Dumas. The Moore County Commissioners approved a plan by Willis Construction and Ad Rem Land Development to build new houses, west of Dumas. With the preliminary approval, financing and construction can begin, according to the Moore County News Press weekend edition.

The plan says ten new homes will be constructed on Peggy Lane, and the rest on Lena Lane, just outside the Dumas City limits.


Friday morning, Moore County emergency crews responded to a crash about 6 miles north of Dumas. DPS officials say 47-year-old Jason Wood was driving a Ford Mustang north on FM 119 when the car veered across the southbound lane and left the roadway.

The car then entered the barrow ditch and struck a tree.

Wood was pronounced dead by the Moore County Justice of the Peace on the scene. The crash remains under investigation. Information may change, be corrected, or added based on the investigator’s findings.


Amarillo health officials reported another 224 patients recovering from COVID-19, to go alongside a decrease of 108 active cases on Friday’s report card.

According to the Amarillo Public Health Department, there are currently 3,382 active coronavirus cases in the city. Overall, 45,204 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Amarillo area.

Of those, 40,932 patients have recovered from the virus.
