Amarillo’s first COVID-19 report card in a week gave some good news to the area after the report was delayed due to concerns about the weather.
The Feb. 22 edition of the report card from the city showed another 52 active cases reported in the city – but that came coupled with 536 new recoveries.
When the six new deaths reported in that time frame were added to the total, the city reported a net loss of 490 active cases since Feb. 15 – one of the largest day-over-day losses since the beginning of 2021.
Last week, officials dropped the city to the orange COVID-19 alert level, citing a drop in hospitalization rate and COVID-19 case average, among other criteria.
JBS Cactus continues to donate money to programs in Moore County. The latest is $10,000 to Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center. The money helps the annual school supply charity event, where they purchase things need for school children.
Congratulations to Dumas Demon safety Louis Ortiz, who was recruited and has signed to play for the Texas Tech
Red Raiders. Next season Texas Tech football will move to our 103.5 FM, and AM 800.
