Region 16 honored area school counselors as part of National School Counselors Week.

They held a special program at the main Region 16 campus on Bell St. in Amarillo. The organization took time to highlight Dumas ISD for receiving the CREST Award. CREST stands for ‘Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas.’ The award is given by the Texas School Counselors Association.

Before the Amarillo Sod Poodles take the field in 2021 there are other events coming to Hodgetown. High school baseball players in the Panhandle will be able to take advantage of the Minor League Baseball field in the Randy Keller Tournament from March 11-13. All Amarillo ISD schools, as well as Dumas High School will play in the tournament.

Jose Moreno Caballero was last seen in Dumas, Texas on March 7, 1996. He was 36 years old at the time.
Caballero was last seen in a red sweater, tan jacket, and blue jeans. He is also known to wear non-prescription sunglasses.

According to the Texas DPS, Caballero was dropped off at a bus station en route to El Paso to be reunited with family members. The DPS record shows he seemed nervous about the reunification.
