Moore County Crime Stoppers honors our local law enforcement officers by having an officer of the month. Each month, the Board of Crime Stoppers will randomly select a local Law Enforcement Officer from one of 5 agencies in Moore County to be the Officer of the Month.

The officer for the month of April is Sergeant John Fisher with the Moore County Sheriffs Office. Sergeant Fisher has been in law enforcement for 9 years.

He graduated from the Panhandle Regional Law enforcement Academy.


The Amazon warehouse coming to Northeast Amarillo is on track to open early 2022. The grading on the construction site is complete and now the foundation is being poured.

There’s lots of activity on the property with people working on it 24/7 depending on the weather.

Concrete is finished on all of the west side entrances going on to the property. This facility does not do customer deliveries, so Amazon Prime members in the Panhandle will be receiving their packages the same way they currently do.


The National Park Service at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area is having work done to improve the number of boat ramps.

As visitation to the parks increases having a granular material such as silt removed will improve conditions for launching or putting your boat up on a trailer.

Crews are working at the Fritch Fortress launch ramp to get silt that has accumulated over decades on the ramp removed.
