KDDD News 6-20-21 Dumas July 4th Celebration

Details have been released on the 4th of July in Dumas. The world championship mud volleyballl tournament kicks things off on Saturday, July 3rd at 8 am. The fireworks are once again at Dumas Demons Stadium, with the gates opening at 9 pm, and the fireworks happening at 9:45.

For the third year in a row, the fireworks musical soundtrack will air here on Big Country 95 3. So tune in your car radio, radio at home, your cellphone or by telling Alexa to play Big Country 95 3.

Following a busy week of Dumas and Moore County government meetings, we learned that Dumas ISD voted to approve a memorial in honor of former Dumas Demons coach and teacher Anthony Marga. The memorial will be placed in a grassy area between the Factory, and the Demon Dome.

The Moore Country News Press reports that Moore County Commissioners sent a new lease proposal to Amarillo College, for the property the local campus sits on, and the vacant lot next store. AC has responded positively so far. The college would need to develop the vacant property for educational purposes.

The Dumas Moore County Chamber of Commerce awarded the winners of this years Dogie Days Parade. The Dumas Soccer Boosters Club won $100 as judges voted their float best of show. The other money winning floats went to CareNet Pregnancy Center for best of theme, and Amarillo College for most original.
