A somber and special event was held in Dumas last Friday. Beyond the Call of Duty End of Watch is a group from Washington that travels across the country each year honoring law enforcement officers that died during the previous year.

A crowd gathered at McDade Park, as the group rode in honor of former Dumas Police Chief Marvin Trejo, who died from complications from Covid-19 last year.

Moore County law enforcement, first responders, family and residents attended the event.  The group travels to 46 states from May 28th through August 18th.


Fireworks sales began Thursday and run through July 4 in Dumas, and across Texas ahead of the Independence Day holiday. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is not to handle them at all, but to watch a professional fireworks show from a safe distance.

The annual Dumas fireworks display is this Saturday night at Demons Stadium, withe the music soundtrack again airing on Big Country 95 3.


The Dumas 7 on 7 football team finished in the top 4 of a 32 Team bracket at the State 7 on 7 Championships in College Station getting knocked out by State Champion Kaufman.

The Dumas big boys finished 2nd in the State at the State Lineman Challenge in Abilene behind El Campo.
